Child Safety Policy – Momap
Last updated: 1 August 2025

At Momap, we are committed to protecting the safety, privacy, and well-being of all users, especially minors. This Child Safety Policy outlines our approach to ensuring a safe and appropriate environment for younger users of our platform. We aim to comply with all relevant child protection laws and app store requirements, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation for Kids (GDPR-K).

1.  App Accessibility & Age

Momap is intended for general audiences, including users under the age of 18. The app does not require users to verify their age or enter their date of birth during sign-up, in order to maintain a frictionless user experience.

We rely on parents and guardians to supervise minors’ use of the app and encourage responsible digital behavior.

2. User-Generated Content (UGC)

Momap allows users to upload and share their own content (such as photos, videos, and captions) within private groups called “moments.” Content shared in the app is not publicly accessible and is only visible to users who have been invited to view it.

At this time, Momap does not offer messaging or public comment features.

  1. Moderation and Reporting Tools

To ensure safety and reduce risks for minors, Momap includes the following protective features:

  • Content reporting: Users can report posts that may be harmful, inappropriate, or violate our guidelines.
  • User blocking: Users can block others from interacting with them.
  • Review system: Our team reviews reported content and takes appropriate action, including removing content or restricting accounts.

We aim to respond to reported content within 24 hours.

4. Data Collection from Minors

We collect only the data necessary to operate the app effectively, including:

  • Email address (for authentication)
  • Display name
  • Profile photo (optional)

We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under the age of 16 without parental consent. If we become aware that such information has been collected inadvertently, we will delete it promptly.

We use Mixpanel for app analytics, which helps us improve performance but does not include advertising.

5. No Ads or In-App Purchases

Momap currently does not contain advertisements or in-app purchases. This eliminates exposure to inappropriate marketing content and financial risk for minors.

6. Parental Controls and Consent

Because we do not ask for or verify users’ age, parental consent is not collected during sign-up. However, we encourage parents and guardians to:

  • Supervise their child’s use of Momap
  • Discuss online safety with their child
  • Contact us directly if they wish to review or remove their child’s data

7. Contact for Child Safety Concerns

We welcome inquiries from parents, guardians, or any concerned individuals regarding child safety or privacy on the platform.

Contact Email: hi@momap.io

We will respond to all inquiries in a timely manner and treat each case with appropriate care and confidentiality.

8. Policy Updates

We may update this Child Safety Policy to reflect changes in our app features, practices, or applicable laws. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
